Hotel Chopin is located in Fiumicino, approximately 3 kilometers from Rome's Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO). The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the airport for an additional fee, with the meeting point located at Terminal 3, door/exit number 4, parking space number 3. Make sure to request it beforehand! Free parking is available on-site. Rome is some 30 km away and reachable by public transport or around 45 min in a taxi.
The hotel's decor is reminiscent of the Baroque era but with a faded grandeur. You can almost imagine what it used to look like when it was new but after a few decades, the hotel has lost its old-timey splendor. The lobby is decorated with countless memorabilia which is a little bit quirky but very interesting especially if you're into old Italian artifacts. The two vintage cars on display in the main building are a cool detail of the interior too.
The hotel comprises two separate structures: the Main Building for most of the rooms and the common areas and the Separate Building, which is for economy rooms plus the swimming pool and a jacuzzi about 100 meters away. Do not miss the museum and the small theater for events and performances held at the hotel often. All rooms regardless of the class are equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and private bathrooms. The walls are thin and noise insulation is lacking.
You can enjoy a buffet breakfast served daily from 07:00 to 09:30.
The on-site restaurant is a convenient dining option, although nothing to write home about. There are better restaurants in the area nearby.
Overall, Hotel Chopin is a nod to a bygone time which unfortunately also means dated facilities and very basic service.

A bit of a unique hotel that I chose because it was located near the airport. The hotel has a museum connected to it with lots of vintage vehicles, definitely a special touch. The breakfast tasted nice and the staff was friendly and helpful.
