Our summary of Långholmen Hotell

Långholmen Hotell is located on the green island of Långholmen. The 19th century building used to house a prison and has been renovated to create a unique place to stay. It’s close to the area of Södermalm and the old town and city center are quickly accessible by public transport. The island is home to a prison museum, popular beaches and parks.

The hotel rooms are fondly referred to as ‘cells’ but provide much more comfort than they did for their previous occupants. There are three options: compact double, double and standard. All are equipped with free Wi-Fi, a working area, TV, safety box and ensuite bathroom. The double cell can accommodate up to four people with the two additional beds that fold out from the wall. A breakfast buffet is included in all room rates.

Långholmen’s Inn restaurant serves traditional Swedish food using locally sourced ingredients. There’s lunch of the day as well as à la carte lunch and dinner. The hotel’s Bar Finkan is next door and offers drinks, snacks and coffee. The Lobby Bar based in the hotel reception has a range of drinks, sandwiches and snacks. Outdoor seating in the courtyard is available during warmer months.
