Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square is located in the middle of Siam, one of Bangkok's most exuberant areas. The hotel is right beside Siam Square and within walking distance of the Siam Paragon and CentralWorld malls. The Siam BTS Station is a 5-minute walk away, so reaching other parts of the city is not too difficult either. This is a very central location in the new part of Bangkok while the old town and historic areas can be reached in less than 30 minutes by public buses or a taxi.
The hotel rooms all have plasma TVs, minibars, tea/coffee-making facilities, and modern bathrooms. The furniture is a bit old and certain areas could use a refresh. Overall, the rooms are consistently clean and comfortable.
On the second floor of the hotel, you will find the restaurant, known for serving some of the best river prawn and dim sum. Other than that, there is a dessert and pastry shop in the lobby and a chic gourmet bar with a social dining atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and consists of yummy food. Should you want something different or have some dietary requirements, there are numerous other options in Siam and inside the malls.
There is an outdoor pool and a smaller pool for kids, although both look old, tired, and not maintained to the highest level. It would benefit from more sun loungers and toys for the kids' pool.
