A short walk from Phrom Phong BTS Station is Ariston Hotel – a four star hotel providing well-designed accommodation.
Ariston Hotel Bangkok is a solid choice if you want to stay in Sukhumvit - one of the modern parts of Bangkok. It's located just a 4-minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS Station. The hotel is also close to The Emporium shopping mall. The area is busy and lively and there are many restaurants, bars, and places for entertainment.
The hotel offers basic, clean, and spacious rooms, albeit a bit outdated. Nonetheless, everything functions normally and the interior is adequately comfortable for short stays. Every room has a flat-screen TV and an AC unit, and some also have a seating area. The air conditioning in certain rooms can be noisy, which could be an issue if you're a light sleeper. Opening the window is hardly an option either if you seek a quiet room. The private bathroom comes with a bathtub, free toiletries, and a hair dryer. Some of the amenities you would normally expect from a hotel of this class are missing: no coffee/tea maker or a safety deposit box.
The hotel has an on-site restaurant and the food there is generally well-received but expensive compared to local dining options of the same quality. The breakfast experience is underwhelming with a basic selection for the buffet spread and a lackluster atmosphere in an outdated dining hall.
The outdoor pool is very underwhelming - it's small, closes at 6 PM, and the area around is a bit soulless and lacks any pleasant atmosphere. There is no gym - a disappointing lack of a normally expected facility.
Ariston Hotel Bangkok offers a good balance between price, convenience, and amenities. It leans towards the practical and you won't find much to remember in terms of design or cutting-edge facilities. On the contrary - the rooms could use a little refresh in terms of decor and furnishings.
