Affordable hotel in the middle of Bangkok's business and diplomatic district. Good location near several Metro and Skytrain stations. The hotel has modern, comfortable rooms and nice outdoor terrace. Near to the Chao Phraya River and the popular night market. There are many good venues and shops around the hotel.
Ibis Bangkok Sathorn is a mid-range hotel located in the Sathorn district, about a 15-minute walk from Lumphini Park. This location is practical for the Lumpini MRT station is just a 10-minute walk away. The nearby lively area on Silom Road and the Patpong Night Market are quite close too. It's not the best area for a first-time tourist in Bangkok but return visitors of those staying longer will find it quite convenient.
The rooms are compact but modern. All rooms are pretty much the same, so you cannot upgrade to a bigger or better room. Most rooms are smaller compared to other hotels. They all have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and electric kettles and are in general adequate for short stays. There is free wifi throughout the hotel and complimentary parking for all guests.
The on-site restaurant is nothing pretentious but the food is absolutely delicious. There is also a bar which is a great value for the modest price of the drinks.
A breakfast buffet is served daily at an additional cost and includes a variety of hot and cold selections. Guests have found it good but nothing extraordinary.
The three meeting rooms can hold up to 72 people, though the facilities are pretty basic.
Ibis Bangkok Sathorn is a solid option if you're traveling on a budget but want a clean and comfy hotel. It won't wow you with facilities or design beauty but it's consistent in what it promises and delivers.
Check-in is available from 14:00 and check-out is required by 12:00.
