Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square is located in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan. The hotel is within a short walk of Times Square (11 minutes), the Theater District (16 minutes), and Hudson Yards (12 minutes). The Port Authority Bus Terminal is nearby and the nearest subway station is just 3 minutes on foot away.
The hotel rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and complimentary wifi. Rooms on higher floors add nice views to the mix and are generally worth upgrading to. The rooms are quite compact and suffer from various small maintenance issues but overall the hotel is clean and modern. The AC works well but can get noisy in some rooms, depending on the age of the unit.
There is a fabulous complimentary breakfast buffet with a lot of fresh food served each morning. The minor downside is that the breakfast area can get crowded during peak times. The slow elevators don't help in this regard.
There are many restaurants in the area but none on-site at the hotel.
The hotel features a fitness center which is well-equipped and receives praise from most guests.
Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square will not win you over with the room size or any luxury facilities. The rooms are pleasant, albeit simple. However, it is memorable for its stellar breakfast and helpful staff.
