The rooms are not big - it's tight quarters but they are kept clean and tidy, so they make for a good place to stay if you will spend most of the time exploring the city. The views from the rooms, especially those on floors 30+ couldn't be better - especially those towards the Empire State Building.
The complimentary breakfast is sufficiently varied but still below average. More problematic is the fact that the dining hall is small and becomes crowded during peak morning hours. There are not enough tables to seat all guests.
On-site dining is available at The Placery - a chic venue serving salads, sandwiches, and burgers. The retractable-roof, outdoor Terrace is another venue for drinks and it comes with awesome views of Manhattan. The 24-hour market is where you can go for drinks and snacks around the clock.
There is a small but well-kept fitness center.
Hyatt Place New York Chelsea will win you over with the amazing views from most rooms. While everything else is average, the overall feeling of the hotel is comfortable and convenient.
