The hotel is located next to Madison Square Garden. With spacious rooms and a helpful staff.
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station is situated adjacent to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. It is a walking distance away from the Empire State Building, Bryant Park, and the High Line with Times Square being just 20 minutes on foot away. The nearest subway station is 3 minutes away.
The rooms and suites are equipped with plush Marriott bedding, flat-screen HDTVs, work desks, coffee makers, and complimentary wifi. Rooms are bigger than average for New York - a nice perk of the hotel. The rooms lack a minibar/fridge. Some guests have complained of the rooms being hot - this depends on the time of year, but there are persistent issues with climate controls and the noise of the ACs.
A complimentary hot breakfast buffet is served daily. Choices are limited and the quality of the buffet spread is below what's expected from a Marriott hotel. The breakfast room gets very busy at popular times.
A unique feature of the hotel is the seasonal Blu33 Rooftop Bar which serves refreshing drinks and appetizers with amazing panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. This bar is open during the warmer months of the year. From mid-November until the beginning of Spring, go to the lobby level for the on-site Blu33 Lounge & Patio and its classy ambiance instead.
The 24-hour gym facilities are pretty good with a range of cardio and resistance machines and some free weights and other equipment. It's small but sufficient.
A nice touch that reminds of the olden times is the free newspapers available in the lobby.
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station doesn't disappoint with the value for money it offers. It's a stylish option in the heart of Manhattan that will win you over with the comfy rooms and make you stay longer for the rooftop bar.
