Unahotels Ala Venezia is an adults-only hotel located in the San Marco district on the main island of Venice. It is just a 10-minute walk away from the Piazza San Marco. The hotel is within a short walking distance from most of the famous landmarks, including Teatro la Fenice (2 minutes) and Ponte di Rialto (13 minutes). The hotel is only 100 meters from a Vaporetto (water bus)stop which you can use to get anywhere across the city.
The hotel has 82 rooms, each with strong and reliable air conditioning, free wifi, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and tea-making facilities. Rooms are a bit small, even for Venice, but are also quite unique and well-appointed. Some rooms have nice views of the city, but others are dark and open up to the walls of the building next door. The building dates from the 18th century and most of the characteristic Venetian decorations are preserved.
A highlight of the hotel is its American Bar. Its unsophisticated setting is well-received by most guests - so well that it sometimes fills up and you'll have to queue.
The hotel's charming terrace was closed in the summer of 2024 for renovation but will likely open for the next high season.
The breakfast offers many choices for any taste. Quality- and variety-wise, it's one of the best hotel buffet breakfasts in this part of Venice.
