Khaosan Palace Hotel is located right in the middle of Khao San Road - the famous party street and backpackers meeting ground. This location is inside Bangkok's old town and historic area, although quite far from the modern districts or stations of the MRT and the Skytrain. Public transport near the hotel includes various buses that stop nearby and the public ferry on the Chao Phraya that you can take from Phra Arthit Pier.

The rooms are nice and clean, albeit on the small side. Given the location, you may expect noise coming from Khao San Road but the rooms are, somewhat surprisingly, not that loud. Nonetheless, if noise is a concern, ask for a room towards the back of the hotel. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen cable TV, a safety deposit box, and a minibar. The "splendid" rooms also have fridges and kettles. The en-suite bathrooms come with shower facilities and complimentary toiletries. There are dark curtains installed so you can sleep late.

At the rooftop, you can find the amazing swimming pool area with a bar - an awesome escape from the busy streets below and ideal for watching the sunset.

Staying at the hotel can save you a lot of time in another aspect - organizing tours and sightseeing is easy at the front desk and the employees are always willing to help.

All in all, Khaosan Palace Hotel is a good choice if you want to be near all the youthful bars and parties. Young couples and solo travelers will find it to their liking, as will first-timers to Bangkok.
